Fintecture, a French regulated payment institution specializing in credit transfers, has been elected to the board of the European Payment Institutions Federation (EPIF), the European association representing the payment industry. The company will be represented by its General Secretary, Fanny Rodriguez, who is also President of AFEPAME, and who will represent Fintecture and, more broadly, French payment institutions in major European regulatory debates.
Created in 2011 in the wake of the European Payment Services Directive (PSD), EPIF today brings together the main payment and e-money institutions operating in Europe, as well as certain banking institutions whose core business is payment services. Its role is to defend a common vision with European institutions, contribute to regulatory developments and promote healthy, balanced competition for the benefit of consumers and businesses.
A strategic role for French payment institutions
As a member of the board, Fanny Rodriguez will take part in EPIF's strategic discussions on major European regulatory developments (DSP3/PSR, DORA, anti-fraud, instant payments, etc.), and help define common positions in a market undergoing profound change. This official role, registered in the Belgian Journal Officiel, will enable Fintecture, and more broadly French payment institutions, to strengthen their representation at European level and bring a strong French voice to the debate.
" European payments are experiencing an unprecedented acceleration, at the crossroads of technological innovation and regulatory developments. Being a member of the EPIF board is an opportunity to directly influence these developments, and to defend a balanced vision that combines security, innovation and European sovereignty ", says Fanny Rodriguez, Secretary General of Fintecture and President of AFEPAME.
At the same time, Philippe Heydarian, Fintecture's Compliance and Payment Security Director, represents EPIF on the European Payments Council (EPC), and more specifically on the Payments Security Support Group (PSSG). This working group brings together European players to strengthen payment security, anticipate regulatory changes and share best practices in the face of emerging threats. Fintecture's expertise in the fight against fraud - be it identity theft, IBAN security or proactive blocking of fraudulent payments - lends added legitimacy to this participation, and illustrates the joint commitment of Fintecture and EPIF to bringing the voice of payment institutions to bear on crucial issues of security and trust.
