Bureau Vallée is a family-owned group specializing in office equipment (supplies, furniture, etc.) and services (reprographics, point-of-sale displays, etc.). The company has 400 stores (France, Belgium and Spain) and an e-commerce site. To simplify payment for its business customers, in April 2024 Bureau Vallée deployed the Immediate Transfer Fintecture.
What were Bureau Vallée's cashiering issues?
Our customer base is made up of 30% professionals and 70% individuals. Professionals mean larger average shopping baskets. Until now, the only means of payment we offered our customers online or in-store were rather conventional ones, such as the bank card. However, the card has the disadvantage of having a maximum monthly spending capacity that cannot be exceeded. So we had to find solutions.
In addition, our business customers often asked for deferred payment. But payment on account or deferred payment was not part of our brand model. Some stores, being franchisees, also took the liberty and risk of advancing merchandise to professional customers without having the guarantee of payment at the end of the period agreed between them.
What changes have you seen following the introduction of Fintecture?
We succeeded in deploying the Fintecture solution in record time for a network of 320 stores in mainland France, 85% of which are franchises.
But in the end, it's through the web that we're seeing the first results. In particular, we can see a direct impact on the average basket: orders paid by Immediate Transfer go from an average basket of €100 to around €160.
What are your challenges for the months ahead?
The challenge for the coming months is obviously to "bring" this solution to our stores. What does that mean? First of all, it means evangelizing Fintecture to our franchisees, their teams and, of course, our customers.
This will also involve even greater integration of all our omnichannel systems to simplify transactions for our customers and stores.
